BGI, Whitechapel

The Project was situated in Whitechapel within the Queen Mary's Innovation Centre New Road. The Project consisted of installing a new CAT 3 laboratory research site for BGI who one of the leading reach and development companies in field in Genomics research. The project contract was JCT design & Build and CGA worked with the novated design and consultant teams through the COVID pandemic through to completion. during the pandemic the design of the labs was increased from CAT 2 to CAT 3. CGA introduced this design into the scheme and successfully completed the project with minimal impact to programme

The project consisted of full fit out of the third floor with finishes to include:

Finishes:

• CAT 3 Labs

• New Mechanical supply and extract system utilising the client existing plant feed and return

• New floor finishes throughout

• New ceilings throughout

• Double glazed full height partitions systems

• Glass and timber doors

• Fitted joinery to reception

• Lab furniture

• Installation of fume cupboards and associated extraction

• New Lab grade lighting system throughout
