On Wednesday 23rd September 2015, Clive Graham Associates held a Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The CGA team put their baking skills to the test and between us, we managed to contribute cakes of all varieties which provided a great selection on the day to tempt anyone’s sweet tooth for a piece of cake (or three) in return for a donation.
We are pleased to announce that we have managed to raise £400.70 for the wonderful charity Macmillan Cancer Support and would like to thank all of the CGA staff and visitors to our offices for their contributions.
Why is it so important that we invest in research into cancer patients and better cancer care?
The story about cancer is changing. Macmillan’s own research reveals that the number of people living with cancer diagnosis in the UK in 2010 was 2 million, we now know this number has reached 2.5 million (in 2015) and is set to rise to 4 million by 2030. Cancer patients are living longer after their diagnosis than they did 40 years ago, cancer is increasingly about living with cancer with many people experiencing issues which require support several years after initial diagnosis and treatment.
